Chris Gordon Wilson has spent 35 years in the fields of military security engineering, crisis management, anti-terrorist measures, construction, security equipment supply and security consultancy. As an officer in the Royal Engineers he has designed major security and defence work installations in Northern Ireland as well as working on the operations and intelligence staff in Headquarters Northern Ireland. On a special tour in the Province he carried out mine and IED search operations and was responsible for the management of engineer explosive search teams. His specialist training included military parachuting, signals and communications and combat infantry weapons instructor. On leaving the army he was employed on turnkey projects in the UK, Europe, Middle East and Far East including the construction of the Hong Kong Shanghai Bank, the Lloyds of London building and King Khalid Military City in Saudi Arabia. He has spent two periods working in the Middle East in Dammam, Saudi Arabia and Far East and has extensive knowledge of Kuwait, Bahrain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and South Yemen. He has extensive knowledge of Thailand, China, Malaysia and Singapore. For 10 years he was employed in the field of integrated security systems. This included the management of alarms, CCTV systems, installation, service and central station monitoring operations for Honeywell Security in London. As Operations Director for Shorrock Security he was responsible for controlling over 12,000 systems in London and South England. From 1990 he spent four years in independent consultancy as the Director of the Security Risk Management Division of one of the world’s largest specialist security consultancies in London operating worldwide. Initially tasked with developing security engineering for major projects he was responsible for the division providing crisis management and personal protection advice as well as information security and counter eavesdropping services. He directed the security operation for a major £400m French hydro-electric project in Kashmir against Afghan terrorist groups. |
